At the bottom of the hill is a fresh water river where the locals regularly fish. The rooms have great character with beautiful, exposed beams and stone walls. All rooms are decorated to the highest standards and are in keeping with the charming style of the Villa. With 5 bedrooms, Alla Marginetta can comfortably sleep 10 people or more. We have cots and a toddler bed available for young visitors, as well as a highchair. The Vila has a fantastic 12 metre freshwater swimming pool and 2 large Gazebo's. Alla Marginetta is a 3-minute drive from the Village of San Rocco in Turrite and about 5 minutes from the town of Focchia. About 10 mins further on from San Rocco is the charming small town of Pescaglia. The Villa is about 25km from the old walled town of Lucca and the drive to Pisa Airport is about 1 hour.

10 years of successful renting has seen the upkeep of the property improve and evolve every year as we strive to get better and add more services. The large kitchen has an island bar for casual eating and relaxing. The lower level has a Tavern bar which leads onto the grounds, washing machine & laundry area. The villa has a beautiful 12x6 large Metre pool with Gazebo & is completely fenced. There is a play area for Children. 3 minutes' drive away are the lovely villages of San Rocco and Focchia. A further 5 mins on from San Rocco is the picturesque town of Pescaglia. Continuing from Focchia is the quaint town of Fabbriche di Vallico.. During summer the villa really comes alive with a large spacious area, private pool which is great for rest and play. The surrounding area is great for fishing and mountain/hill walking or just chilling. The garden is landscaped very tastefully and gives guests total privacy. its easy to see how much pride and effort has been put into this property over the years with so many fantastic personal touches added over the years.

About the area

San Rocco in Turrite is a quaint little village in the heart of Lucca province, about 1 km away is the pretty village of Focchia. Much of the area around is nationally protected so it' is great for walking, cycling and exploring natural sights. A bit further on (10 min drive) Pescaglia is a picturesque Tuscan Village in the Commune of Lucca, it is about 10 miles north of Lucca's Old Town. The village is nestled within the Apuan Alps mountain range which boasts stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The villages are all quiet, charming, and full of character with local village shops and bars. The villages of San Rocco in Turrite, Focchia, Fabbriche Di Vallico and Via Fabbriche di Vallico all have lovely little restaurants. The restaurant Al Laghetto in via Fabbriche di Vallico has a great reputation.

Bagni Di Lucca is also a short drive away - an attractive Village with restaurants, a Thermal Spa and a large public pool with diving boards set in the grounds of a Villa. Lucca, with its stunning walled 'old town' is a 35 minute drive from the house and has a range of attractions. There is also a local bus service to Lucca several times a day. Cycling around the Lucca wall is not to be missed!

Major cities like Florence is about 1 hour and 15 minutes drive, Siena 1 hour 30 mins and Pisa is 60 minutes away. a bit further on you have Milan (3.5 hour), Bologna (2.5 hour) and Rimin (3 hours) are all drivable. Often people fly into those airports and drive down.

The Beaches of Viareggio, and Forte Dei Marmi are an hour away by car with Camiore Beach about 50 minute drive away.
